Overview
A client would like to extend lifetime memberships to customer records. However, an error message appears when they change the end date to 2099 is "Service End or Months cannot be edited for calendar memberships." Items were previously added to a prorate table and then added to membership codes and classes.
Solution
- The error message appears because there is a prorated schedule setup for these members.
- To delete Prorate Items that were added to the memberships code, go to Membership Setup, then Membership Codes, select Class, open a Membership Code, then on the left side under the Membership menu, click on Membership Prorate Term, open the record and delete. There is also a Membership Prorate Term under Membership Setup, Membership Classes.
- Contact GoMembers Enterprise Support requesting to clear the prorate type field for the corresponding records.
- Extend the End Date. You may get a message about the Months field - just enter 999 in that field. An adjustment will be created, but it won't post if there is not a Dues Item. A Dues Item will need to be added. You can change the Dues Item amount to $0.00 if needed.

Use the editor to clear the prorate type field on these membership records. Please see Access the Progress Editor in GoMembers Enterprise on how to use the editor.
